Climate and Sustainability

At Burnham-on-Crouch Primary School, sustainability is an important part of our vision to be ‘Connected to our world’. Through our curriculum, enrichment opportunities and Eco Warriors, children learn how their choices can make a positive difference to the environment.

We are continually developing our approach through practical actions such as reducing waste, improving recycling, introducing food-waste collections, monitoring energy use and increasing biodiversity across the school site. Our pupils play an active role by sharing ideas, leading projects and working with local partners, including Essex County Council.

We are proud that our commitment has been recognised through the Carbon Cutting Essex campaign, and we will continue to build sustainability into school life so that every child understands their responsibility as a thoughtful and active global citizen.

Our chicks are enjoying their new home on Miss Smith’s farm. They are old enough to move from the brooder box now but will need to stay inside for a little longer. Keep an eye out for more updates!
