Positive PE 3

General, PE

As we approach half term here is a round up of PE related achievements and developments.

As a school we took part in the nation wide event relating to the Daily Mile, #EnglandDoesTheDailyMile, during which our entire school joined thousands of other Primary School children as we completed the Daily Mile together! This initiative is certainly a well established part of our school day here at Burnham Primary, and our children enjoy the extra opportunity to boost their fitness levels.

Utilising the Sports Premium funding we have now purchased some exciting equipment to further enhance our PE lessons. This includes new benches, brand new footballs, training goals and a bluetooth speaker for use outside!

I truly believe we are all excited about the reopening of our pool after halfterm. A lot of hard work has gone into preparing the pool and I hope all of our children are excited to refine their Swimming skills.

Finally, huge congratulations to Holly Wastnage in Year 5 who is certainly a Tennis superstar in the making!! She recently won a “Road to Wimbledon” competition, and is set to play in the next round in July, against the best in Essex.

Have a great half term and stay active!
