Is it possible to build a tower that can withstand an earthquake? As part of our topic on earthquakes, we have looked at the devastating impact they have on people and the economy. We studied how buildings are being developed to withstand powerful tremors ,for example the Taipei 101 building in Japan. To understand this process we tried to create our own buildings using spaghetti and marshmallows. We then tested the strength of our constructions by using jelly to represent the Earth’s crust
