Indoor Athletics and Football.

PE

Our Year 6 athletes were invited down to the Dengie 100 Sports Centre to compete in an indoor athletics event. Made up of both track and field events, including long jump, triple jump, vertical jump, javelin, speed bounce, sprinting and long distance relays.

We had some fantastic individual and team performances and ultimately ended up coming runners up overall. Maylandsea were worthy winners and we wish them the best of luck as they progress onto the next round of competition. Thanks also to the fantastic young leaders from William De Ferrers High School who helped deliver each of the events. Finally, thanks to Dengie 100 Sports Centre for hosting the event.

Our senior footballers were in action once again, playing in the Essex Jim Smith Cup. We met up with St Lukes and Great Bradfords, over in South Woodham. Unfortunately we could not find our stride and lost both games.

Looking to the future hopefully we can gain more experience next season when we are able to play some friendly preparation games.

Finally our Girls Football team were in action recently, as part of their Essex Cup competition. The girls travelled over to Maylandsea Primary and played some committed football. Our goalkeeper in particular has really grown in confidence, frustratingly we just could not score any goals.

Maylandsea were worthy winners and we wish them the best of luck as they play in the next round.
