We’ve been studying the works of Jave Yoshimoto, a Japanese-American artist who specialises in ultra-colourful paintings of natural disasters. This links to our new Geography topic, where we will be studying the cause and effect of these massive, dangerous events. We have created our own layered art works, showing the effect of various disasters on the people involved, and the actions of the rescuers who try to help them. We’ve learned a lot of techniques for paint and shading, and feel we’ve created fitting versions of Yoshimoto’s work
