Today we have had our diversity day where we have looked at how we are all the same but different.
We have learned about hearing impairments and have learned some simple Makaton signs. We have shared the story ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ by Michael Rosen, using our senses to explore the story. We have learned key Makaton signs linked to the story too.
We have made maps of the story using different textures, retold the story through messy play and described each element of the story. We also used sensory story spoons to retell the story. “What a beautiful day” of learning!
We also learned to sign “My name is…” and the alphabet, along with colours and simple everyday signs with Mr Tumble!
