Everyone in Year 2 enjoyed learning about the Great Fire of London. The children worked hard to gain an understanding of an event that happened long ago. They were interested to know how the fire started in 1666 and were keen to learn about the dangers of fire and how to keep themselves safe. Their learning was brought to life through a history alive session when they all enthusiastically worked as a team forming a bucket chain to put out a pretend fire – there were buckets of all shapes and sizes! Some children were so inspired that they went on to create their own models of a house during the time of the Great Fire – well done!
