Year 3 – Diversity Day Christmas Traditions

Meerkat, Zebra

As part of our Diversity Day, we learnt about Christmas traditions around the world. We started in Italy and learnt the tale of ‘Old Befana’. Using this story about a witch that drops treats to the children in Italy, we created our own witch. Then we moved to Iceland and learnt about the cheeky yule lads. We then took a trip to Spain and learnt about Epiphany> We made our own paper shoes, leaving them by the window for the Three Kings to fill with sweets. We made origami snowflake decorations, that people in Japan use to decorate their Christmas trees.
